Firstly, let me tell you about what we do and, don't do.
We DO chase trophy striper year round. We are successful because we do not fish with large numbers of people in the boat, we try to fish on days where the lake/boat traffic is low, and we do not chase the bulk numbers of smaller schooling fish. In fact, it is safe to say, we don't even fish for smalls. (Smalls are striper under 20" long) Each fisherman is allowed two striper over 20 inches each day, on Lake Texoma, and those two are who we are targeting. Needless to say, we DO catch some smaller fish along the way, but by using baits designed for larger fish, we sometime exclude ourselves from an active bite of fun-sized freezer fish.
Dont worry! Catching 3 or 4 bigger fish, will get you as much meat as a full limit of smalls.
ALSO... I was asked what I do when I've caught the limit of large fish. Will I fish for smalls, then? The answer is, NO, not really. But we wont just quit and go in. I love to fish, and I have not fished less than 4.5 hours on a 4 hour trip in my life, unless the customer wants/needs to go in. The baits I use, will catch plenty of fish 16" - 20" However, the baits I use are also about the same size as the small fish most guides keep and clean. If there are fish busting on the top, as happens in the early morning ie: schooling striper or, sandbass, of course we will do the top-water/casting thing. What I mean is, I troll with baits the size of keeper fish. if you want to pay good money to catch small fish, go right ahead, but call someone else. If you have more than 3 anglers, and/or need to keep the attention of inexperienced members in your party, you should probably call a different guide, as well.
***Fishing for Trophy Striper and "striper fishing" are two completly differnt things. I am trying to get you a WALL HANGER on the end of the line, and that takes patience, and sometimes a long hard day of throwing everything in the boat at them.

We provide, rods, bait, and tackle and we will even clean and bag the fish you keep and if you do catch a trophy, we will either take proper measurements, so a reproduction mount can be made, (done for ‘catch and release’ fish,) or direct you to a local taxidermist who can freeze your prize for a skin mount.
Full Day, Night-time Rail Road Bridge Fishing Trips, Bow Fishing, Fly Fishing, and general fishing lessons are all available upon request. Just email or call and we can work something out.
